Our Work > Arctic Connections
Ocean Wise Arctic programs include scientific research, public awareness and understanding and northern engagement initiatives. Our researchers study Arctic marine life such as belugas, narwhals, seals, fish and invertebrates, and marine debris such as microplastics in the Arctic. Our Aquarium exhibits, education and public programs, online and social media all help create greater awareness of the Arctic and Arctic issues. And our northern youth engagement program, Ikaarvik: Barriers to Bridges, works closely with Arctic communities and scientific researchers to involve youth in research that addresses local needs.
