Exploring the relationships between mental well-being and blue spaces

Project Description

PsycholoSea is a short, interactive book designed to delve into the connections between blue spaces and mental well-being. The book ultimately aims to connect the reader to the ocean through educational information and engaging activities. The book covers topics like edible sea plants, endangered species, overfishing, plastic pollution and more. Among the activities included are fun fishless recipes, a crossword puzzle, BINGO, meditation exercises, and action items individuals can take to help contribute to ocean conservation efforts. Together, the content and activities are meant to inspire and motivate readers into wanting to take action to protect water bodies in their own unique ways.

What was the best part of this project?

Getting to sketch on paper and digitally! Using the Procreate app was a huge learning curve but it was incredible to create different illustrations and paint backgrounds for the pages of my book. I enjoy bringing together art and science so getting to do it for an ocean conservation project was super fun.
