Ocean Wise Alum – 2023 Eco-Action Accelerator Cohort
A bit about me:
I’m a Canadian civil servant specializing in border security, immigration, human rights, and innovation policy. I’ve been with the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) since 2021, contributing to initiatives that enhance national security and human rights compliance. I hold a Master of Public Policy from the University of Oxford and a Bachelor of Commerce from Queen’s University. My work and academic experiences have focused on the intersection of criminal justice, human rights, and governance, with a commitment to building equitable systems of justice. I’ve also led projects empowering marginalized youth to take action on social issues, fostering leadership and resilience in their communities.
What gets me out of bed in the morning?
The drive to address systemic barriers and create meaningful change, whether through advancing public policies that prioritize justice and equity or working directly with communities to amplify underrepresented voices. Witnessing the resilience and creativity of those I collaborate with fuels my passion and inspires me to continue pushing for impactful solutions.
