Ocean Wise Staff – 2023 Youth to Sea Cohort

Pronouns: She/Her

A bit about me:

I am an outdoor educator and aquatic biologist excited to help other’s build their connection to the ocean and environmental action. During my undergraduate studies at Queen’s University, I worked for the Queen’s University Biological Station educating the public on water conservation issues. My love for education and the outdoors brought me to the Bamfield Marine Sciences Center where I led high school students in a variety of experiential learning activities and helped researchers collect and care for their study organisms. I am excited to return to Vancouver Island to be reunited with the rugged landscape and diverse marine life of the west coast!

What gets me out of bed in morning?

Sunshine!

A fun fact about me:

I aspire to visit every province and territory in Canada (9/13 done)!

Ocean Wise is based in the traditional and unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples, including the territories of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. We work across Turtle Island and beyond, supporting Indigenous peoples in their vital work on ocean conservation and biodiversity whenever possible or as we are invited to.
