In early 2027 Ocean Wise and the PEI Public Library will bring together ocean experts, Indigenous Elders and young learners from across the Island to apply their learned knowledge and discuss what is required for a resilient, ocean positive, future.
Fostering the next generation of ocean stewards is key to building a climate resilient future. Ocean Wise is helping develop ocean leaders in Prince Edward Island by connecting Island youth to their local marine environments and highlighting the lived experiences of Indigenous communities.
Through immersive discovery kits, virtual classes and a virtual summit that blend science, Indigenous knowledge, and local climate realities this project aims to turn eco-anxiety into real-world action. This project is made possible by the Government of PEI’s Climate Challenge Fund.
