Building Resilient Futures

PEI Climate Adaptation Grant

Bring the Ocean Home!

Explore the connection between the ocean and climate with a FREE Ocean Wise Discovery Kit from your local library. Each kit is packed with hands on activities, games, books, and real ocean artifacts to make at home learning easy as 1, 2, Sea!

Available at participating libraries across PEI. Best for ages 6+ with an adult.

Fostering the next generation of ocean stewards is key to building a climate resilient future. Supported by the Government of PEI Ocean Wise is making this happen by connecting Island youth to their local marine environments and highlighting the lived experiences of Indigenous communities.

Through immersive discovery kits, virtual classes and a virtual summit that blend science, Indigenous knowledge, and local climate realities this project aims to turn eco-anxiety into real-world action.

Ocean Discovery Kits help teach Islanders about sustainability and how we are all connected to the ocean.

Ocean Wise is based in the traditional and unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples, including the territories of the xÊ·məθkwÉ™y̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and SÉ™lÌ“ílwÉ™taÊ”/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. We work across Turtle Island and beyond, supporting Indigenous peoples in their vital work on ocean conservation and biodiversity whenever possible or as we are invited to.
