We would be honoured to discuss how your philanthropy can make a meaningful difference for ocean conservation.

Protecting and restoring our ocean starts with bold action. Thank you for considering a donor-advised fund gift to Ocean Wise.

Supporting ocean conservation through a Donor-Advised Fund is simple.

A Donor-Advised Fund (DAF) is a flexible and tax-efficient way to support the causes you care about today and into the future. Through your DAF, you can recommend grants to Ocean Wise that help protect and restore our ocean, safeguard marine wildlife, and inspire the next generation of ocean stewards.

The ocean gives us so much. A gift through your Donor-Advised Fund is a powerful way to give back, helping protect and restore our ocean for generations to come.

What is a Donor-Advised Fund?

A Donor-Advised Fund is a charitable giving account that allows you to make a contribution, receive an immediate charitable tax receipt, and recommend grants to registered charities over time. DAFs are administered by public foundations, community foundations, financial institutions, and other sponsoring organizations.

You can contribute cash, publicly traded securities, mutual funds, or other eligible assets to your DAF. Depending on your provider, those funds can be invested and grow tax-free, creating even greater impact for the charities you support.

When you’re ready, you simply recommend a grant from your DAF to Ocean Wise.

Why Give Through a Donor-Advised Fund?

Making a gift through your DAF is a convenient way to support ocean conservation while simplifying your charitable giving.

Benefits may include:

  • An immediate charitable tax receipt when you contribute to your DAF.
  • The flexibility to recommend grants when the timing is right for you.
  • The ability to support Ocean Wise through one-time or recurring grants.
  • Simplified record-keeping and tax receipting.
  • Opportunities to involve family members in charitable decision-making.
  • The option to support causes publicly or anonymously.
  • Potential tax advantages when donating appreciated securities.
