Ocean Wise’s Partnerships and Educator Resources team is hosting a workshop entitled Empowering Ocean Champions Through Climate and Conservation Education in Science.

As our societies face the impacts of the current ecological crisis, youth are often left despondent, facing eco-anxiety, and unaware of how to best tackle the fight against climate change and pursue a sustainable future. Therefore, youth must be educated, inside and outside of the classroom, on the interconnectedness of their lives, their choices, and the environment. At Ocean Wise, we recognize the pressure this responsibility places on educators, particularly because of the lack of reliable information and resources that integrate the latest climate science and pedagogies. By creating education resources informed by our conservation research, recognized climate change pedagogies, and Indigenous Knowledge, we aim to guide you in incorporating climate and conservation education into your lesson plans.  So, join us to learn more about how to approach our education resources with various curriculum connections, how to integrate your climate change pedagogies into your own activities, and most importantly, how to empower students to be Ocean Champions.
