Leadership Update at Ocean Wise

As of November 14, 2025 Jennie Moushos will take on the role of Interim CEO at Ocean Wise. Lasse Gustavsson will be leaving to pursue other opportunities. We thank Lasse for his contributions and wish him the very best in his future endeavors.

The board is excited to begin recruitment for Ocean Wise’s next CEO and will be identifying a recruitment firm shortly to work with.

Jennie joined Ocean Wise as Executive VP of Finance and Business Development in March 2020 following over 25 years in the insurance industry. In 2023 Jennie was promoted to Chief Operating Officer (COO). She is deeply committed to giving back socially and environmentally, co-founding the Women in Insurance Cancer Crusade BC Chapter; working on the IBC Regulatory Committees for BC, Yukon and Alberta and presenting regularly at the BC Institute of Technology; and being regular presenter at the annual FCI-CWI Women in Leadership Conferences.

Jennie’s acceptance of the Interim CEO role will provide stability and continuity as Ocean Wise moves forward. Jennie’s deep operational knowledge and steady leadership will continue to grow the organization.

Strategic priorities, projects and plans for 2025 and 2026 all remain firmly in place, and this transition does not change Ocean Wise’s long-term commitment to a world where the ocean is healthy and thriving.
