Project Description

Owen  created “Are Sharks The Real Monsters” to address how sharks have been undeservedly given a bad reputation and to also present some cool facts about these majestic creatures and what we can do to help them. He delivered his presentation 15 times and reached over 200 people across 5 countries and 4 continents!

Owen Weigelin and Youth to Sea Manager Brittany MacLean were interviewed on nslive.tv about Owen’s project. Watch the interview: https://nslive.tv/are-sharks-the-real-monsters/

Help spread the word

Share this page on social media and help get the word out on ocean conservation

Ocean Wise is based in the traditional and unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples, including the territories of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. We work across Turtle Island and beyond, supporting Indigenous peoples in their vital work on ocean conservation and biodiversity whenever possible or as we are invited to.
