Ocean Wise Staff Ocean Pathways Cohort

A bit about me:

Growing up on the prairies, oceans and coral reefs were always mysterious and vibrant places that cultivated a deep curiosity from a young age. My background is interdisciplinary, first delving into the art world where I explored my passion for the natural world through patterns, textures, and form. After living on the east coast completing a Fine Arts degree in jewellery design & metalsmithing at NSCAD University, I owned a jewellery business for almost a decade and managed a jewellery school.

As my desire to play a more direct role in ecological conservation grew, I went back to school for a second degree where my studies focused on exploring living systems thinking, sustainability leadership, climate resilience, and exploring coral reef restoration. Thus, I redirected my career, leading me to Ocean Wise! I am excited and privileged to work alongside the Direct Action team to weave my lived experience together with my skills, aesthetic, and passion for making a difference.

My other favourite ways of exploring and being in the world are travelling, diving, hiking and camping, running, growing flowers, and swimming in all bodies of water.

What gets me out of bed in morning?

Coffee, for sure, and sunshine coming in through the windows! Of course, so does working with a great team to facilitate meaningful experiences for talented and passionate youth.
