Ocean Wise Alum – 2021 Ocean Bridge Cohort

A bit about me:

I have lived my entire life in Canada, but my family is half Mexican, which has given me some different perspectives growing up. I love PEI, but being able to live by the ocean in another country gave me some insight into just how important the water is no matter where you are in the world. I have always felt most at home when near the water, even if I am in a different part of the world. Kayaking, paddle boarding, and surfing are some of my favourite things to do on the water! Besides that, I am currently studying International Business Studies at the University of Prince Edward Island.

My favourite ocean memory:

When I was visiting Newfoundland for the first time I had the amazing pleasure of seeing whales while at Signal Hill National Historic Site. It was an incredible scene and something I’ll never forget!

What gets me up in the morning:

I love starting my day with a coffee on the beach. No matter where you are on PEI, you are never far from a beach! After that, I love trying to get outside for hikes or go swimming during the summer months.
