Ocean Wise Mobile Education Reaches Thousands in Atlantic Canada
The Ocean Wise Mobile Education team has just wrapped up its third summer tour across Canada as part of the Waves of Change Program funded by the Government of Canada.
Following a 2022 summer tour of Western Canada and a 2023 summer tour of Manitoba and Ontario, the team headed across the country to visit schools and communities across Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick.
Our Mobile Education team offered two unique experiences designed at sharing ocean and climate education with people of all ages. This included the Ocean Wise Sea Dome, an immersive pop-up ocean experience, and ocean artifacts. Both experiences were led by Ocean Wise’s expert educators.
Over the span of the three and a half month tour, Ocean Wise educators engaged over 14,000 people in direct conversation and activities, visited seventeen communities and had fifty bookings at community centres, camps, schools, public events, and science centres.
Thank you to everyone who joined us on this incredible journey to protect our oceans! Stay tuned to see what province we’ll be visiting next summer!
The Ocean Wise Sea Dome is now taking bookings in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia. Learn more and book HERE.
