Vancouver, April 24, 2025 – Have you ever swum with schools of salmon overhead, dove alongside a humpback whale, or explored mysterious kelp forests and coral reefs? This spring, people in Ontario will have the chance by visiting the Ocean Wise Sea Dome at a series of free community events aimed to inspire love of the ocean.

During April and May, the Ocean Wise Mobile Education team is visiting communities across Ontario, offering the Ocean Wise Sea Dome: an immersive, pop-up ocean adventure. The planetarium-style six-metre dome projects 360-degree 4K cinematic footage of the ocean and its creatures, “transporting” visitors under the sea. The Sea Dome features ecosystems from the tropics and from Canada, giving visitors the chance to learn more about animals like salmon, sea lions, humpback whales, manta rays, turtles, and more!

The Ocean Wise Sea Dome experience is designed to highlight connections between ocean health, climate change, and daily life – and get kids excited about ocean conservation. Learning about ocean health is critical for everyone regardless of their proximity to the ocean. All waterways lead to the ocean and pollution or environmental damage in one area ultimately leads to our oceans, impacting marine ecosystems, oxygen production, food security and climate for us all. Best of all, these experiences are completely free for the public and all ages to take part in. The Ocean Wise Sea Dome’s tour of Ontario is generously sponsored by Enbridge

Ocean Wise will be visiting Brampton, St. Catharines, Sarnia, London, Toronto, and Ottawa from April 25 – May 10, setting up at museums, zoos, and community hubs. All are invited to join. See all public events below or online here, no registration is required:
