Project Details
A website project that encourages youth and the public in patronizing reusable products especially water bottles.
Project Description
To foster sustainability among youth and the public in patronizing reusable products such as water bottles (main focus), reusable bags, and among others. This will be done through a website project with interactive activities and resources that will also serve as a platform for users to contribute ideas and share thoughts about reusable products and minimizing plastic waste pollution.
My hopes is to create a collaborative platform with interactive resources for the youth and others to use that will encouraging them to learn about plastic pollution and the effects of it to our environment.
This project has been created in commemoration of the lives of all the victims of Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302, including two Ocean Bridge ambassadors, Danielle Moore and Micah Messent. We aspire to carry on their legacy and commitment to making the world a better place by creating long-lasting impacts with a firm commitment to driving positive change for the environment and our ocean. We will never forget the light that Danielle and Micah brought to the world and will continue to keep them in our hearts. To learn more about these two amazing people, please visit: Honouring Danielle and Micah – Ocean Wise. This work is partially funded by the Commemoration Fund for Victims of Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302 Tragedy.
What was your biggest challenge?
The biggest challenge for me is time. With school and work, it was a challenge to allot time for the project. In 2024, I plan to have the website setup and rolling for users to have access to it.
What was your most valuable takeaway?
Project planning and management. Digging deeper on key shifts, budgeting, establishing your goals and values, theory of change, timelines, and documentation are important to make a project successful.
