Mackenzie Kuenz

A bit about me:

Hi! I’m Mackenzie, I was raised on Tsuu T’ina territory and always felt a strong connection to the ocean and waterways. In 2018 I moved to W̱SÁNEĆ territory and was so excited to live close to the ocean for the first time. I have spent a lot of time in Brazil where I have experienced the deep spiritual connections to the waterways spirits Oxum and Iemanjá.

I am the co-founder and co-director of Ritmos Climáticos, a youth-led community mobilizing culture for climate justice. We host events, create content, and build community. We believe that culture is a powerful way of addressing climate justice as it makes topics more accessible and relevant to communities. We are always looking for collaborators so don’t hesisitate to reach out.

I dream of pursuing grad school to study with the intersections of spirituality and climate justice in coastal communities in Brazil.

I speak Spanish and Portuguese fluently without an accent!
