Explore the whales of the west coast as a whale researcher 'virtually' with an Ocean Wise Educator this World Ocean Day!

Explore how to identify common whale species, what makes them different from one another, how we can use intergenerational knowledge to gain information, and how we can learn from them as a researcher! Building connections between our shared waters and what you can discover in your own backyard with an Ocean Wise Educator. This session is ideal for Grades 4-6 and runs from 9:15am – 10am PST.

Ocean Wise is based in the traditional and unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples, including the territories of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. We work across Turtle Island and beyond, supporting Indigenous peoples in their vital work on ocean conservation and biodiversity whenever possible or as we are invited to.
