June 8 is World Oceans Day, a global movement to recognize the importance of our shared ocean.

Ocean Wise Education is hosting numerous exciting web events for this month of ocean! Our special June 8 Wet Lab Biologist Talk will celebrate World Ocean Day and Ocean Wise’s birthday. And all month long we will be celebrating innovation in education with Earth School   for students around the world to celebrate, explore and connect with nature. Meanwhile Wave of the Future: The Sustainable Blue Economy is an interactive resource for kids, families and educators. If you are a young professional, don’t miss the World Ocean Day GLOBAL summit. Also, with our brand-new series “Tales from the Deep: Insights from Ocean Wise Research”, anyone can tap into what it is like to explore the ocean as a researcher. Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup: Monday, June 8, 2020 4:00 pm PST – The UN Association in Canada- Vancouver Branch and the Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup are proud to have teamed up for our 3rd annual World Oceans Day event. We are bringing this year’s event right to your home, we will be hosting an ONLINE panel discussion as we celebrate Innovation for a Sustainable Ocean. Join leading scientists, experts and change makers from coast to coast to coast as we explore innovation in science, collaboration, communications and citizen engagement for the protection and conservation of our oceans.
