Emma's placement with NCC focused on watershed health through conservation management for significant natural lands protected by NCC across the Eastern Ontario subregion.

Project Description

Emma worked closely with NCC Coordinators of Conservation Biology to support conservation programs in their Natural Areas, contributing to overall watershed health. Emma also assisted with on the ground conservation management for significant natural lands protected by NCC across the Eastern Ontario subregion by collaborating with NCC staff, partner organizations, local stewards, and other volunteers. Throughout her placement, Emma had the opportunity to conduct a variety of field work tasks alongside stewardship staff, including: invasive species control, trail monitoring and development, restoration planting, completing property inventories, succession management, and wildlife monitoring.
